Call for Papers
July 22-26, 2024, the 17th International Conference on Persons will take place in Berlin, with the aim of bringing together researchers from around the world currently working on the idea of the person.
Papers in any discipline are welcome, so long as the theme is relevant to the ideas of person, personhood, and personality as a philosophical, theological, psychological, social or political concern.
The official language of the conference is English.
Submission Information for Papers
Papers must not exceed a length of 3,000 words and should be prepared for blind review. In the e-mail sent with the submission, please include
- Your name
- Academic status (professor, unaffiliated, student, etc.)
- Institutional affiliation (if any)
- E-mail address
- Paper title
- An abstract not exceeding 200 words
All submissions should be emailed to: personsconference2024@gmail.com.
The deadline to submit abstracts is May 31st, 2024, but please submit as soon as possible. Preliminary acceptance of an abstract will come with instructions as to how the full paper should be adjusted for blind refereeing. An accepted abstract is an invitation to submit a full paper. Only full papers will be accepted for the conference. Those full papers are welcome as submissions at any time prior to the deadline, and will be reviewed for acceptance as soon as they are received. Full texts are due by June 30th, 2024, but they should be submitted earlier if possible. Full papers may be submitted at any time earlier and rolling, prompt notification will be facilitated so that travel arrangements can be made early.
Registration and Conference Dinner
The conference fee is anticipated to be less than €100, and will be lowered if possible. The conference dinner will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 7pm.
Conference Venue
The Catholic Academy in Berlin was established for the purposes of meetings such as this one. It is a conference center and hotel established by the Catholic Church in the heart of Berlin, within walking distance from the central train station. Rates are very affordable.
